Offer Description
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg. The project, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms of quorum sensing in Klebsiella pneumoniae and its role in host–microbe interactions.
The successful candidate will work in a stimulating, international, and collegial research environment and benefit from close collaborations with Philipps University Marburg and the Institute for Lung Research.

- Master’s degree (or near completion) in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Strong motivation to pursue independent research in microbiology and host–pathogen interactions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international team
