The Mastercard Foundation offers a full scholarship to students who have applied for and have been admitted to one of the programmes at the University of Pretoria.

The Mastercard Scholarship at University of Pretoria will cover the full tuition fees, accommodation, meals, laptop, and living stipends of successful candidates for the duration of the Masters programme.

Mastercard Scholarship at UP (University of Pretoria) Details:

The University of Pretoria (UP) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation (MCF) is currently offering scholarships for high achieving African students interested in studying at postgraduate levels, commencing in 2026.

The MCFSP offers a full scholarship to selected students who have been provisionally admitted to study towards a postgraduate degree at UP. Graduates must return to their home countries on completion of their studies and give back to their communities.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP) targets academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Africa who will contribute to the transformation of the continent.

Mastercard Scholarship at University of Pretoria recipients are expected to use their knowledge, skills, attitudes and values evidenced by their leadership experience to make impact in their immediate community.

To apply for the Mastercard Scholarship at University of Pretoria, interested and qualified candidates should follow the procedures below;

• You will have to first apply to secure admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Pretoria.
• Download and complete the hard copy of the undergraduate application form
• Download and complete the hard copy of the postgraduate application form
• Submit your application electronically to mcfsp@up.ac.za 
• Your application will undergo a review process. You will be notified of the outcome afterward.
• Only successful applicants will be contacted for interview.
